Julia Kisselmann is an illustrator and artist currently living in Berlin. Julia graduated from the University of Bedfordshire with a BA (hons) degree in Illustration in 2011. Whilst studying there, she started to develop her own illustration style that is mainly based on hand drawn techniques and patterns. Her nature inspired images are highly detailed and explore fluidity, shapes and movement in the environment.

Julia is currently working as a freelance Illustrator developing artwork for Zizzi Ristorante which is going to develop into a large scale mural.

She recently got commissioned to create book cover designs, is designing logos for companies and is always partaking in competitions online, submitting her art to be printed on t-shirts, bags, scarves and other mediums.

Some of her designs won competitions at Threadless, Alltropical and Front Row Society.

In 2011, Julia showcased her project entitled ‘Transmutation’ at the ‘Bite: Artists making prints’ contemporary exhibition and the ‘D&AD New Blood Exhibition’ in London which reached a high response. ‘Transmutation’ is a series of 25 screen printed illustrations encased in a handmade box that studies nature and its whole interconnecting web. Some of these prints are now being sold online alongside some other products.

Julia is always willing to take on new challenges and approaches subjects with an open mind.
